[HACKATHON] Jane Street ETC 2018 – Trading bot challenge

Last Saturday I was on Electronic Trading Challenge – developing a trading bot in C++. It was a day-long programming contest where participants compete against each other in a simulated market.

Little bit boring compared to a game jam but huh… I’ll take everything, this year was totally filmmaking one instead of programming one 😉

There were teams of 3 people. We had 6th place of 22 total, so it’s pretty good. It was completely different thing than a game jam – we were working on linux and doing some low-level stuff like a text parser.

We learned much about exchange and trading, and overally it was a interesting experience.
